“I was just sick of this dumb-ass idea that Bulgaria is a better place to make American movies than America.” Locavore filmmaker Bruce Campbell
My Name Is Bruce stars Bruce “The Chin” Campbell in a fight to the death against evil, tofu, and his own slow learning curve. Campbell also directed. Mike Richardson, of Dark Horse Comics, produced.
From a Portland Mercury interview with Campbell: “Most of it was filmed on my property. Now I have a Western town that I can’t get rid of. It’s so big I can’t take it down. It confuses the hell out of delivery peoplesome guy comes up and he’s like, ‘I didn’t know there was a town of Gold Lick out here!’ My wife and I say, ‘Let’s meet out by the tavern!’ or ‘I’ll meet you in the livery!’ It’s a great conversation piece.”
See My Name Is Bruce at the Clinton Street Theater where it will run from Jan. 2 to Feb. 5.
