Famous for its climatic pie fight, The Great Race is a great movie for Tony Curtis/Natalie Wood/Jack Lemmon completists, and for fans of Edith Head.

I hereby clarify the historic claim made that The Great Race is an Oregon film. It is on the basis of this cameo appearance of the Gearhart, Oregon beach.

I think you are overlooking that film noir classic Out of the Past: there is a picture of Mount Hood on a calendar in the gas station where Robert Mitchum’s character toils in the beginning of the film.

    Talk about a cameo appearance!

I’m going to float this again: the musical Gypsy! has a scene in which Klamath Falls is mentioned. So it must qualify as an Oregon film, yes?
